Abstract

Plasma motilin level was measured by radioimmunoassay in 30 healthy male pilots before and after aerobatics. The results suggested that fasting motilin level of pilots had no significant difference(p>0. 05) compared with that of the ground personnel. However, plasma motilin level began to increase 2hrs after aerobatics and reached the highest level 6hrs after aerobatics. The value at 6hrs after aerobatics compared with that before aerobatics, there was significant difference (p<0.05). 24hrs after aerobatics plasma motilin level was still higher. This is perhaps an important reason for the higher morbidity of functio¡¤nal gastroenteropathy and duodenal ulcer in pilots.
